Doctors & Staff

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make Family Eye Care a proud provider of vision care products and services in Erie.

Dr. Jill Cuthbertson

Dr. Cuthbertson graduated from Gannon University in 1991 with her Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She continued her studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where she graduated in the top 10 of her 1996 class. She is certified by the American Board of Optometry.  This certification requires that Dr. Cuthbertson maintain more clinical education and submit to advanced testing that is above and beyond what is required by the Pennsylvania Board of Optometry.  She has been practicing in the Erie area for 22 years. She bought her own practice, Family Eye Care, in June 2014.

Dr. Cuthbertson enjoys helping patients with their visual needs as well as helping to diagnosis and treat ocular diseases including dry eye syndrome and macular degeneration.

Carol Harrington

Carol has worked at Family Eye Care for 3 years.  Carol coordinates patient scheduling and does the medical billing for the practice.  She orders contact lenses for patients and helps to ensure that the office is a clean and healthy environment.

Carol is happy to answer any questions that patients may have about insurance, appointments, or contact lenses.

Katelyn O’Brien

Katelyn has been a part of the Family Eye Care team for almost 3 years and has been in the optical industry for over 17 years.  She is an optician with a vast knowledge of lens designs and materials to fit your lifestyle needs.  Katelyn also works as the doctor’s technician and performs contact lens fittings and diagnostic tests.  As the primary frame buyer, Katelyn takes great pride in the selection of frames we offer.  Katelyn has a knack for helping each patient find the perfect pair of glasses.

She feels that the biggest reward of her job is helping patients find the “perfect frame” and seeing the smile on their face when they pick up their new glasses. Katelyn is happy to help patients with all their optical needs.

Kelley Perino

Kelley is the optometric technician for Dr. Cuthbertson.  Kelley has worked in the healthcare field for over a decade.  Along with her years of experience, she is also a certified nurse’s aide.  Kelley is responsible for taking a preliminary case history with patients, pre-testing and diagnostic testing.

Her objective is to provide exceptional customer care while building lasting relationships with each patient.  She is constantly learning and acquiring new optometric skills.
